Turning 7 months old must be an awakening experience!
Kadence was officially 7 months old on Sunday. She woke up slightly earlier than normal at around 7:30 AM with a runny nose and watery eyes. But still happy as ever!
After an hour nap in the afternoon she woke up fussy, so I held her and she went back to sleep. Who could resist holding a snuggly baby who didn't feel great?! I loved it!
Kadence sleeping in Mommy's arms! |
Monday night/Tuesday morning was a different story. Kadence... known as our great sleeper ... decided that 2:30 in the morning was a good time to wake up and play. She cooed and played with her pacifier in her crib. But after over an hour, she was getting louder and louder. All I kept thinking was that she was going to wake up Kamden. I didn't need both kids awake!
So I brought her in my room and tried to rock her in our big recliner to get her to settle down. Well, she was not happy about that so she started fussing which woke Daddy up. Around 4:00 in the morning, he took over and got her to settle down and go back to sleep. Mommy was able to get another hour or two of sleep!
She slept in Daddy's arms until 8:45 AM. I believe she had a normal nap day on Tuesday.
She slept great Tuesday night until 5:40 AM Wednesday morning. She woke up happy again. Cooing and playing with her pacifier. I let her play and tried to get 20 more minutes of sleep before my alarm would go off. I got up and got ready for work while she continued to play in her crib. Who would have guessed that a pacifier would be so entertaining!?! Before I left, I took her in to Justin fearing that she would wake up Kamden.
Wednesday was a rough day all together sleeping wise. She only slept 15-20 minutes in the morning and 15-20 minutes in the afternoon. What happened to our good sleeping girl?!?! Daddy was getting frustrated. She would be happy one minute and fussy the next. So I came home from work early and took her to the doctor. They wanted to make sure she didn't have an ear infection. Nope...her ears looked great! So, again, I ask. . . What happened to my good sleeper?
She fell asleep in the car on the way home from the doctor. Of course! And slept for about 45 minutes in her carseat in the family room. Whatever it takes! And woke up happy!
Thursday morning, Kadence woke up at 6:10...just as I was getting in the shower. Since she was happy, I left her in her crib. She started fussing just as I went downstairs to leave at 6:50. But Justin was able to get her to go back to sleep until 8:30.
Early Friday morning at around 1:30, I hear Kadence again. Kind of cooing, kind of fussing. I gave her some time hoping that she would put herself back to sleep. She tried....and tried again. But then she lost her pacifier. I went in and rocked her to put her back to sleep.
She awoke again!
Around 2:30, she woke up Justin. He feared that she would wake up Kamden. But I was watching him like a hawk in the video monitor and he wasn't moving. Eventually, she was getting frustrated. I went in and rubbed her back and she finally calmed down . . . until around 6:15 in the morning. Awake again.....but she must have figured out how to put herself back to sleep this time because she didn't wake up Daddy until 8:00 AM.
I guess Kadence is done spoiling her mommy and daddy. And I guess mommy is going to have to start drinking coffee every morning again!
In case any one was wondering, out good sleeper returned the night after I wrote this blog. I guess she just wanted some special attention!
