It's Super Mario Time!

Happy 5th Birthday!

For Kamden's 3rd and 4th birthday parties, he asked to do a race car theme.  So, let me tell you how excited I was when he chose a different theme for his 5th birthday party.  I had so much fun planning the food and decorations for his Super Mario party!

And it turned out to be a beautiful day....actually the first real nice day this season with highs in the mid 70s and bright sun.  We were able to hold the party outside (a first outside birthday since we have been in the new house), and the kids were able to enjoy the bounce house that we borrowed from a neighbor.
Brooks, Kamden, Ainsley, Jude, and Ellie
Kamden was very hard to buy for this year.  His wish list only included Nascar items, and he actually has almost every item you can buy in the stores.  Everyone did a wonderful job spoiling him with Legos, Hot Wheels tracks and storage box, books, and money for his savings account.  He got a couple tshirts and some new crocs and converse tennis shoes too!  Thank you to everyone for choosing to celebrate with Kamden!  He had a blast!!

Leave it to Aunt Heather to find him a Nascar he didn't have...Ricky Stenhouse Jr's Nationwide Car!

What kid wouldn't want a life-size poster of Dale Earnhardt Jr?

Decorations included a piranha plant coming out of a pipe, Boo balloons, many Mario characters, and mustaches
Food included Power Up Sandwiches, Goomba Meatballs, Ice Power and Fire Power Cheese Puffs, Cheep Cheep Goldfish,  Yoshi's Eggs (malted milk eggs), and Super Star Cookies
This awesome cake was decorated by my friend Kyle!

Kamden's Birthday

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living
My baby you'll be.
-Robert Munsch

I can't believe my baby boy turned 5 years old today.  It seems like just yesterday that I was fumbling through trying to figure out how to take care of a baby, or that he was learning to walk or say new words.  Now he runs everywhere he is going and has a vocabulary bigger than I could ever imagine.  He can write all of his letters, and is great at writing his first and last name.  He is starting to read, especially if the words are related to Nascar.  He can read most of the driver's names without seeng their faces or car numbers!

Kamden has a wonderful personality!  He is smart, funny, and caring!  He loves to be goofy and dance around.  He can tell you anything about Nascar.  He loves to play Nascar on the Xbox or Super Mario Brothers on the WiiU.  He also loves to race his Nascars...I think he owns about 50 of the cars! He also enjoys playing soccer, and we are looking forward to starting the season again on Saturday!

Most of all, he is an awesome big brother!  He loves Kadence dearly, and tells us often that he loves her.  Kamden can get the biggest laughs out of Kadence just by doing goofy things or making silly sounds.

And I love that he brings up Aunt Tammy a lot.  Out of the blue, he will start talking about her and things that he remembers about her.  Just this morning, we were cuddling in bed and I shared with him all of his birthday greetings that people posted on Facebook.  And he mentioned that Aunt Tammy would have sent him a birthday greeting too if she could.  I agreed....she would have loved to have been here to see him turning 5 and the wonderful boy he is becoming!

Happy Birthday, Kamden Brooks!
